Cv. the Azine and Azonium Compounds of the Proteolytic Enzymes

چکیده

THE immense importance of the establishment of the chemical nature of the proteolytic enzymes has led to many endeavours to purify them. From the earliest attempts of Schwann [1836] to the present day all these have met with obvious failure. In 1905 it was observed by T. Brailsford Robertson [1907] that if one drop of saturated safranine (Griibler) is added to a solution of trypsin (Griibler) a precipitate forms which flocculates in the course of a few hours and collects at the bottom of the tube. Some years later Holzberg [1913] demonstrated that the precipitate was proteolytically active. With these two facts in view a study of the nature of this precipitate was undertaken.

Assessing Activity and Characteristics of the Bacteriocins Produced by Lactobacilli from Local Yogurts of Behbahan City

Background and Objectives: Lactobacillus spp. are widely distributed in environment as well as dairy products. During the fermentation process, these microorganisms produce various compounds such as organic acids and bacteriocins with antimicrobial activities. The aims of this study were to isolate and identify lactobacilli from local yogurts of Behbahan, Iran, and assessment of antimicrobial a...

Red, far-red, and near infrared photoswitches based on azonium ions.

Azonium ions formed by p-amino substituted azo compounds with both ortho- and meta-methoxy substituents exhibit strong absorbance in far-red and near infrared spectral region. The compounds undergo robust photoswitching in aqueous solution and exhibit a range of thermal relaxation rates from 10 μs-100 ms.

Proteolytic activity and cooperative hemolytic effect of dermatophytes with different species of bacteria

Background and Purpose: Globally, dermatophytes are the most common filamentous group of fungi causing cutaneous mycoses. Dermatophytes were shown to secrete a multitude of enzymes that play a role in their pathogenesis. There is limited data on co-hemolytic (CAMP-like) effect of different bacterial species on dermatophyte species. In this study, we sought to the evaluate exoenzyme activity an...

Impact of potassium on the yield of lily (Lilium longifolium × Asiatic cv. Termoli) and antioxidant enzymes activity under drought stress

This study was conducted in two phases: 1) to investigate the effect of drought stress on relative water content and proline of leaf and 2) to evaluate the effect of drought stress and potassium concentrations in nutrient solution on the lily (Lilium longifolium × Asiatic cv. Termoli). Based on a completely randomized design in mixture of sand and perlite medium and in three levels of potassium...
